30th Night—The Last Day of Our Love

“You really have to go?” Dhiar pouted, sticking his lower lip out as his hands kneaded along the angel’s foot. His thumbs circled outward, along the tissues and muscles and connections.

Siros looked down to the Incubus, slowly smiling, moving his toes. “Only for a little while,” he murmured. “And I’m sure you won’t be bored. There are plenty of handsome gentlemen in this city.”

“And just handsome men who aren’t so much gentlemen,” Dhiar quipped, giggling as he worked his hands up over the angel’s ankles, over his calves and shins, around his knees dallying and dipping his face down to kiss each once. “I’m sure there will be rapturous lovers where you’ll be?” Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 30

29th Night—Oh, Maker

Transitions were always the most exciting and dreadful parts of any journey. All the questions and possibilities presented hope and despair both, and none of them could be certain until the destination. As the old saying went, “getting there is half the fun”. 28th Night—Oh To Be In Love

“I hope you’re not getting bored with the Great City,” Dhiar all but whispered, his arms coiled around the angel’s as they continued down the path.

Siros looked suddenly to the side, to face the Incubus, smiling to him with a little surprise in his countenance. “How could I? It’s endlessly interesting! There’s countless places to go, countless things to do… and one magnificently special Incubus to do them with.”

All around and above them curled the underground gardens, subterranean and lush below the city of Dis itself. The winding passages twisted this way and that, coming to entrances and exits like some sort of floral subway. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 28

27th Night—Where You Are

Dhiar reclined on his chaise lounge, sipping some slushy drink that seemed less and less frosty with every passing moment.

“You know, I’m not really a beach person, but I really do like it here.” He adjusted the sunglasses on his face. “It’s so… ‘my pace’. You know?”

Beside him, lying on a large towel on the sand, Siros stretched out wings and arms with a steadily-spreading smile. “You mean like… taking things at your own measure? Taking them as they come? Yes… it seems that way.” He looked up at the sky, then at the crashing water, wave after wave tumbling in. “It’s remarkable that it could be so warm here and so cool in the rest of the city…” Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 27

26th Night—Eden

Dhiar contemplated the sleeping man. Siros presented even more of an pure portrait as he slept. His bare chest rose and fell so softly, his lashes moved slightly every so often, and his wings lightly fluttered with them.

He closed his eyes again and pressed against the angel’s side, breathing deeply and slowly. His journey into night had been long, and he hoped sleep would take him soon. It always seemed easier in Dis. The dreams somehow always seemed like they were closer, almost enough to touch at any moment in time.

His body fit so well against Siros, two naked forms together. His penis had lazily filled halfway and pressed against the other man’s hip, and the smoulder of desire remained. Casually, Dhiar curled and reached his hand down to feel Siros, to see if he matched it; his fingers brushed over an almost full erection. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 26

25th Night—Tsumetai Tsuki

The night pressed on. By now, Siros wanted rest, and so he slept in the room they shared. But as often happened in the night, Dhiar found himself restless, and so he picked himself up and took himself for a walk.

He couldn’t remember how long he had walked, or the turns he had taken; it didn’t matter, in Dis. He would find his way back easily enough when he wanted to return. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 25

24th Night—Hounds of Love

The days were so luxuriously long, the nights seemed endless, and all in all Dhiar was having a great time. It felt so good to go home, even once in a while. The time that passed between the occasions made it seem all the more special.

And now, arm-in-arm with Siros, he walked down the streets of stone towards the sound of music and the glow of lights.

This music pulsed and writhed through the body, it pulled one’s very being into rhythm. Even if a person had never danced, it made them want to move. They might not know a pirouette from a fox-trot, but this was the kind of sound where it all became so magnificently irrelevant. This was not the time for well-learned, practised motion. 23rd Night—Time of the Season

The sun shining down on them was as different as could be from Noctemburg’s perpetual night. At first it hurt Dhiar’s eyes a little bit, to be so bright. But even it was not as oppressively bright as it could have been.

There, in the subterranean grandeur of Dis, the Great City of the Abyss… there, the place which Dhiar had known for so much of his youth, which all of his kind know and had known… the trees grew taller than buildings, the streets cobbled and the buildings a mixture of the most beautiful of designs.

In this place, Siros felt completely awed. It was a bit like Dhiar felt around Siros, like this other person, this splendid other person in his life, had such power and knowledge, such a natural awareness of things that he himself could not. In this place, he could stretch his wings. He could fly, and fly into a sky; despite being underground, the Abyss actually had a sky, celestial bodies, and other things that seemed like luxuries by comparison to Noctemburg. 22nd Night—Rocket’s Tail

The air in the bathroom had a substance to it, heavy and full. The steam from the hot bath rose, scented with vanilla and rose petals, the same petals drifting about the surface of the water in the garden tub. The water held the appearance of glass, until movement from one figure or the other disturbed it. Ripples rolled out like reflections from one side to the other.

It was cold outside, but not yet the bitter cold of winter. It made the skylight steam up, opaque and not so playful as in warmer weather. It looked like frosted glass. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 22

21st Night—Shadows of the Night

“You know, you really don’t have to if you don’t want to.” Dhiar reclined against Siros in the coach.

It was horse-drawn, but by no horses known to the dwellers of the surface; no, these were special steeds, just as the ones in Lothring’s place. Though these seemed much more lively. They simply were of the same stock as the vampires, the throngs of undead who had forged ahead into the uncertain darkness and made Noctemburg what it had become.

Dhiar liked the cabs. He was never really a huge fan of automobiles. He wasn’t good at driving them, though Chana seemed to like them. Siros’s presence made everything better, though. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 21
