In the first ten years of its existence, Circlet Press published over thirty anthologies and several single-author works, all the time pushing at the boundaries of sf/f and Erotica and fusing the two together. This is a collection of the very best and brightest of this unique publisher and unique genre, with twenty-five stories picked from the hundreds Circlet has put into print.
The long-awaited sixth installment of Laura Antoniou’s Marketplace series!
When last we saw Chris Parker, he had been bought by master trainer Tetsuo Sakai and was blissfully ensconced in Japan under Tetsuo’s wonderfully sadistic boot. And here we join Robin Cassidy, now contentedly serving a slave contract for a rich Chicago businessman. But the Marketplace is shaken when a new Trainer of Trainers must be anointed and the resulting machinations and clashing loyalties threaten to tear their world apart. Everyone has a stake in the outcome and Chris Parker is about to find out who is with him and who is against him.
Richly told, interconnecting threads of Parker’s previously unseen past with his complicated present, The Inheritor also weaves in the narratives of many favorite Marketplace characters, including Robin, Ken Mandarin, Ron Avidon, and features appearances by many more, including Jiro, Rachel, Michael, and Grendel.
Laura Antoniou is the award-winning author of The Killer Wore Leather and the long-running series that began in 1993 with The Marketplace.
Enjoy a delicious excerpt from THE INHERITOR:
As editor Lauren P. Burka says in her introduction, “All erotica is the story of sex breaking free from biological need to become the co-conspirator of pleasure.” Never is that more apparent than in the sharp-eyed, sharp-minded stories she has selected for Up For Grabs 2, the second volume of gender exploratory erotica she has brought together by asking the question “What happens to sex if we let go of every assumption we have about gender and start from scratch?”
Have you ever dreamed of being so close to the people you loved that you could share your identities, your emotions, and your pleasures? M. Christian has written a story just for you. Do you crave the touch of intersex flesh so much that you will set aside everything you believed about your own sexuality? Raven Kaldera has got you covered. What would the future be like if we had an option beyond male or female, where “it” is not an insult? Elizabeth Thorne takes us on a tour. In a harsh future where the meaning seems drained from life, will gender still matter? Ask Zachary Jernigan. What would happen if our sexualities were defined not by our gender but by specific body parts? Find out what sex is like for a “mouth” in M. Svairini’s story of the same name.

This Circlet title from 1998, part of the Ultra Violet Library imprint for queer fantasy and science fiction, is now available in digital format for the first time. Top contemporary authors bring us these stories of the realms of spirit that underlie the mundane world. Comic situations, such as a lesbian who wakes up one morning to find that she has a penis or a gay man who finds an angel tangled in his laundry line, alternate with poignant tales of loss and love. These stories are about looking for–or inadvertently finding–something more than life as we know it.
This book contains stories by Lawrence Schimel, Laura Antoniou, Michelle Sagara West, Leslea Newman, Nancy Springer, Martha Soukup, Sarah Schulman, Rand B. Lee, Kerry Bashford, and Brian Thomsen.

In The Reunion we visit a vacation resort for a Marketplace “family” gathering, where slaves, former slaves, trainers, and their spouses, significant others and family members can relax, let their hair down, and connect with each other. But the “reunion” that matters most is that of Robin Cassidy (the slave from The Slave) and her first trainer, Chris Parker (the trainer from The Trainer).
Of course the vacation resort isn’t just any resort, it’s Kaleigh Castle, a centuries-old Irish castle that is now a luxury hotel and happens to be where Chris learned many of the skills and practices that have made him so sought-after in the Marketplace. And while everyone enjoys their two most favorite indoor sports–gossip and sex–trouble is afoot. A nosy tabloid reporter thinks he’s onto something: a real-life international slave trading ring. Can Chris keep the world from learning the truth about The Marketplace, but accept the truth about his feelings regarding Robin, Anderson, and Jiro at the same time?
About the author: Laura Antoniou is the award-winning author of The Marketplace Series, The Killer Wore Leather, The Catalyst, and other works of BDSM and alternative sexuality, as well as the editor of Leatherwomen and No Safewords: Tales from the Marketplace. The Academy: Tales of the Marketplace continues the brilliant saga of resolute slaves and exacting owners begun in previous volumes (The Marketplace, The Slave, and The Trainer). A dynamic culture of honor and duty embracing absolute servitude is the basis for the clandestine society known as The Marketplace. Sensuality, intelligence, and passion meld into exquisite eroticism and scenes of blazing sexuality.
In “The Academy” we follow Chris Parker and his trainee, Michael LaGuardia, to Japan, where a conclave of trainers is taking place. While the trainers swap cautionary tales and debate protocol, though, moves are being made that may change the Marketplace, and Chris’s place in it, forever. This complete, full-length novel is a rich tapestry of sexuality and emotion, augmented by the inclusion of short stories by guest authors Karen Taylor, Cecilia Tan, Michael Hernandez, david stein, and Christian Muncy.
The ebook edition includes a brand new bonus story, “Inside Straight.”

The 3rd book in THE MARKETPLACE series brings us into the house of Anderson, the Trainer of Trainers, where Chris Parker and a few clients are in residence. Michael LaGuardia loves being part of the Marketplace and loves the sex slaves he regularly trains. After a couple of years in California, though, Michael thinks he is ready for a step up, an apprenticeship with Anderson. He’s wrong.
Michael arrives at Anderson’s Brooklyn brownstone with a chip on his shoulder and promptly trips over his own, oversized ego. There are some very important lessons Michael needs to learn, about humility, respect, and even sex. Fortunately for him, he’s come to the one place where he’ll get those lessons beaten into him (metaphorically, of course).
The ebook edition also includes an all-new bonus short story, “California Dreaming,” a flashback to the grand West Coast parties that Michael’s former mentor, Geoff Negel, threw.

Robin wants to be a slave in the underground world of the Marketplace. She falls under the tutelage of the infamous trainer Chris Parker and spends an intense few weeks with him. Little does she know that her adventures as a slave are just beginning, taking her from one coast to the other, into the whirlwind party world of a California gay couple and their house of slave boys
The ebook edition also contains an all-new, never before published story “That’s Harsh!” The story tells the tale of what happens when Robin’s masters decide to throw an all-male party. What will they do with their one female slave? Give her the weekend off? Not likely!
“A lot of thought on the topic of submission went into this novel, and it struck some very strong chords with folks who can find themselves in the protagonist… well worth reading!”–Blowfish
And now, the entirety of Chapter One for your reading pleasure:
We are very pleased and excited to be bringing back Laura Antoniou’s enchanting series of books about an underground secret society of owners, masters, mistresses, and their property: submissives, maids, butlers, and pleasure slaves. In the first volume, follow the trials and tribulations of four aspiring slaves as they undergo training hoping to be accepted into The Marketplace. Under the firm hand of Grendel, the sharp eye of Alexandra, and the painful leather strap in the hands of Chris, these men and women will find some of their hardest challenges come from within themselves.
The Marketplace is available as an ebook OR in a print-on-demand paperback edition. The ebook contains an all-new bonus story, “For the Want of a Nail,” in which Grendel and Alexandra decide to host a dinner party, and also includes the text of the bonus story from the Mystic Rose edition of The Marketplace, “A Leash Has Two Ends.” (The paperback has only the text of the novel.)
Fans of Circlet Press may notice one element of these incredible books, though, makes them somewhat different from most Circlet publications: they are not science fiction or fantasy. Thus we are launching a new imprint, Luster Editions, to publish books of alternative sexuality that do not have the sf/f genre element. These books still fit Circlet’s motto perfectly well: Celebrating the erotic imagination.

Part One: Chapter One, Excerpt from THE MARKETPLACE by Laura Antoniou
“May I serve you tea, ma’am?” The girl’s body was bent slightly forward in a subtle, exquisite, inquisitive posture. Her small white hands held the china teapot firmly, waiting for an answer. That was excellent, too. An untrained girl might have started pouring as soon as she asked the question. Continue reading Marketplace, The (Book 1 of The Marketplace) by Laura Antoniou
This short story about Robin, the main character in Laura Antoniou’s The Slave, originally ran as a bonus story in the ebook edition of The Slave. Winner of the NLA: International Writing Award for best BDSM-positive short story of 2010, “That’s Harsh” tells the story of what happens when Robin’s masters — a gay couple — decides to throw an all male sex and BDSM play party. Hint: Robin doesn’t get sent on vacation. (Graphic sex, BDSM play, and boot worship ensue.)
