From “Beyond The Softness of His Fur: Private Revolutions” By TammyJo Eckhart The nice doctor strokes my head after we get through all of the shapes and colors. She mixed them up, trying to trick me, but i’m not a stupid animal; i know the differences now. i eat the treats she leaves — chicken […]
Witching You A Merry Christmas by Roxanne Rhoads Vicki walked into Daniel’s great room and curiously eyed the Christmas tree he was decorating. The twinkling lights lit up the whole room. Multicolored sparkles bounced off the walls and furniture. “I didn’t know vampires celebrated Christmas,” she said with a hint of sarcasm even though the […]
SNOWBOUND by Elizabeth Schechter “It’s coming down pretty hard here, Mom. Nick says that he can’t even see the car in the driveway, and he doesn’t think we’d be able to get off of our street, let alone to the airport…” “Which, by the way, they just closed,” I heard Nick call from the other […]
Red Christmas by Joe Nobel He lives on Mars. She lives on Earth. It’s Christmas. She decorates a tree. She’d picked a small one that fit her small mood for the season. She works hard at not letting depression seep in. As festive as the season can be, with snow, lights, and holographic Santas prancing […]
Celebrating Together by Kathleen Tudor Cassin stared at the beautiful planet below her, but as much as she wanted to, she could barely focus on the strangely colored globe. “What makes the water red?” she asked, trying to bring her attention to the ruby seas. “There’s an organism that lives in the water. It’s photosynthetic; […]

Ho, Fuckin’ Ho
by Laura Antoniou
The trousers had a slick, cold lining of cheap polyester masquerading unsuccessfully as “silk.” I almost decided not to pack, just imagining the heat being generated under this completely unnatural, air and sweat-trapping suit. But I’ve suffered before, and with a certain elegance if I must brag. (And I must.) The dick went on. I did layer with nice UnderArmour Heatgear shorts and t-shirt, both in black. That helped my embarrassingly sensitive upper body withstand the same cheapo lining, complete with scratchy seams I would have been ashamed to produce in junior high sewing class.
Yeah, I took sewing, what of it? Butches should know more than how to change the fucking oil on a Harley, after all. There’ve been many times when my skill with a needle, thread, and a little duct tape saved a hem and a date and made me the hero.
That’s my problem; I always wanna be the hero.
I drew the line at the vinyl foot coverings described as boots. My harness boots would have to do. They were perfectly shined and buffed, thanks to the boy, may he develop a painful itch in his nether regions for getting me into this.
“Aww, come on, Daddy, it’s just a couple of hours, and the club would be so grateful!”
“I don’t know if you noticed, boy, but one, I hate Christmas, two, I am not jolly, and three, the last thing I need is another fucking plaque thanking me for my community service. I’m thinking Thai food and a double feature of monster movies.”
In fact, I love watching monster movies with the boy. We cuddle on the couch with snacks and a bottle of wine and yell advice to the screen, usually in support of the monsters. If the end is really violent, we usually start wrestling and playing rough, which usually ends with sex. And if the ending is semi-sweet and misty-eyed, I beat the shit out of him because it’s usually the most annoying people who survive. He protests. We laugh and then usually have sex.
That’s what I call a fun night.
