This is a very interesting offer. I don’t see anything talking about the ebook format you are using, though…
Monday, April 26th 2010 at 9:27 pm |
Oh, Bob, you’re right! Duh! We will be providing the books on the CD in the two formats we create in-house, PDF and HTML (suitable for Kindle or any browser). I also have in-house PalmDoc files for some but not all books. And if I get a GOOD ePub converter running by then, I’ll include ePub, too. (Right now I’m very unhappy with the quality of the ePub we’ve been able to make.)
Tuesday, April 27th 2010 at 7:06 am |
I was pretty happy with the ePUB formatting that you can get out of the DocBook, but then again, that is one of the major formats I was able to change my own stories and novels into. Of coures, ePUB is basically just glorified chunked HTML output with a few extras, but I know what you mean about making it look good.
Any chance if the ePUB doesn’t work out, you’d give people a chance to grab them when you do make them? I’m beginning to really love my ePUB reader (which sadly doesn’t do DRM and isn’t that fancy) simply for the space compression over my library which takes up too much room.
Tuesday, April 27th 2010 at 2:21 pm |
Absolutely. Anyone in the “Circlet 100″ will be welcome to future e-formattings of the same books. And surely there must be SOME improved tools for converting HTML into decent ePub by now? Or perhaps on the verge of arriving. If Adobe CS5 would output it, I would buy it in a second. Still waiting to see if it will though…
