Gay Romance Bundle Teasers #5: Charming

This is the fifth and final day of our series of juicy excerpts from the five volumes of our giant Gay Romance Bundle.

Charming, edited by Jen Levine and Rian Darcy, is a collection of eight modern gay fairy tales.  Our excerpt is the first third or so of Nightingale by Evey Brett:

The Emperor of Jazz always played as if death were on his heels, but it was I, Night, who became death’s accompanist.

During our gigs Emp’s fingers traveled up and down the piano keys, pulling out impossible chords and intricate riffs no other man alive could. I kept pace on my tenor saxophone, and together we had the musical world at our feet.

At night, our musical intimacy turned physical. Those fingers played my body the way they did the piano, tickling the insides of my thighs, stopping to stroke the length of my cock and teasing me until I begged him to let me come.

Gay Romance Bundle Teasers #4: Leather Spirit Stallion

LeatherSpiritStallion_cover_750Every day this week we’re posting a long, sexy excerpt from one of the books in the Gay Romance Bundle. Today’s is Leather Spirit Stallion by Raven Kaldera.

This is the first chapter, in which we meet Erlik, a Mongolian-tradition shaman, college student and gay leather top, and get to see him pursue his social life.

The boots, as he pulled them on, were new to his feet, although not new themselves. They were military tanker’s boots, black leather with buckles. He had scammed them off of Chaz, who had money and was continually buying fancy pieces of black leather and then getting bored with them. The pants, too, were black leather, found in the local Salvation Army a year ago. The belt had been his older brother’s until he had stolen it, just before leaving his parents’ house forever.

Aside from that, the rest of his clothing didn’t resemble anything that someone might wear to a fetish bar. Over a simple sleeveless black T-shirt he shrugged on and tied his black silk del, the traditional Mongolian coat with fur trim. He had stitched it himself, scavenging the fur from an abandoned coat in the trash, learning to embroider the traditional patterns onto it. Unlike his ceremonial del, which was a feast of bright colors, the black del was more demure with embroidery only in indigo and white. The running horse tracked across his sleeves, his spirit animal in silver-gray. The broad silk sash of cobalt blue went around his waist and tied, then he buckled the leather belt around it. He picked up his sheath knife and hesitated for a moment, then tucked it into his boot. Wearing it at the waist was more traditional, but discreet was better; he didn’t want it confiscated by a bouncer. He picked up his handmade horsehair whip and fastened that to his belt instead. Read that message, boys.

The Prince’s Boy: Chapter 10

Welcome to The Prince’s Boy by Cecilia Tan, a tale of a prince and his whipping boy ensnared in a plot of dark erotic magic. Warning: explores themes of dubious consent and situations of sexual jeopardy. NSFW.

A new chapter appears every Wednesday. This week is Chapter Ten: Kenet

10: Kenet

Jorin was as quiet as always during banquet. His eyes roamed the room as they always did, while I made small talk with the baron seated to my right and his wife, visitors from the western coast. Jorin truly would make a good guard, I thought, regardless what fancy I held in my head.

The baron and his lady got up to join one of the courtly dances and I remained in my seat, wondering what I was going to tell Jorin about my mysterious lesson with Seroi. I was magically bound by the promise not to speak of it. Presumably the tug I felt on my heart each time I tried to imagine the words in my mouth was a warning that if I broke the promise, I would die. Continue reading The Prince’s Boy: Chapter 10

Gay Romance Bundle Teasers #3: Faewolf

faewolf-cover-iconsizeEach day this week we’re running a free excerpt from one of the volumes in our ginormous Gay Romance Bundle. Today’s is from D. M.  Atkins and Chris Tayor’s Faewolf.

This is Chapter Nine, where Kiya White Cloud, a University of Santa Cruz undergrad, and Brian Fenwick, his biology TA , finally get together.  What Kiya doesn’t realize is that Brian, unlike most biology grad students, is a shapeshifter–and more wolf than man.

Chapter Nine

Kiya was surprised at how far from campus Brian drove. Most students kept close to the bus lines, on the west side or downtown when they could. This was a bit remote. It felt like being alone in the wilderness even if it was only a few miles from campus. How could Brian live like this?

Brian pulled up beside his cabin, a shed-like structure nestled among the redwoods, and turned off the truck. “Let me get the door,” he warned as he got out.

Kiya did as he was told, waiting for Brian to walk around the truck and open the door. Kiya really thought that he could have done it himself, but he liked being taken care of.

Capricious: Chapter 2

Welcome to Capricious by Julie Cox, a Texan tale of love and magic. NSFW.

A new chapter appears every Tuesday. This week is Chapter Two. Listen to the audio version at Nobilis Erotica here!

Chapter 2

The red pickup truck kicked up a wake of dust as it sped down FM 190. On either side of the snaking two-lane asphalt, the West Texas landscape stretched wide and lonely, a flat scrub-brush plain dotted with mesquite and nettle, fringed with jutting mountains on every side of the horizon but east. Dark yellow dust covered everything, including the two men inside the truck. Continue reading Capricious: Chapter 2

Political Erotica to Help You Through Election Daythe rest of 2016

EDIT: Given how this election has gone (and the potentially devastating effects it will have on the marginalized in our communities including lesbian, gay, and bisexual people, as well as victims of sexual assault, gender non-conforming folks, all of whom need and deserve sexual agency and equal space as human beings to claim our right to erotic expression) I’m extending the sale on Apocalypse Sex, Like an Iron Fist, and The Velderet until the end of the week. -ctan

Okay folks, as the campaign season has its finale, some of us could use a little escape into a fictional dystopia for a change. To help you out I’ve not only put a full chapter of THE VELDERET below for you to enjoy reading, we’ve put several of our books with a more political bent on sale just until the election is over! You’ll find these sale prices popping up on other ebook sales sites, too, but only here on can you get the added bonus of getting all three for only $2.016 (see what I did there?) — Just use coupon code ERECTIONDAY (note spelling) upon checkout and discount will be applied on these lovely titles:

Like an Iron Fist cover
LIKE AN IRON FIST edited by Katherine Bergeron and Cecilia Tan
We figure if any tinpot dictator is going to grab women by the pussy, this book’s title suddenly becomes even more apt.

Apocalypse Sex cover
APOCALYPSE SEX edited by Jennifer Levine
Here’s hoping it only FEELS like the end of the world right now…right?

Velderet original cover
Velderet censored cover
by Cecilia Tan
Want to know why there are two different versions of the Velderet book cover? Because this book’s cover, which deals with questions of censorship and policing sexual behavior in a utopia (or is it a dystopia…haha) and was ON THE SHELF in major chains like Borders and Barnes & Noble ever since the year 2001, was suddenly deemed OBSCENE by Amazon. Yes, that black and white figure you see who is probably about 20 pixels tall on your screen is POSSIBLY A NAKED WOMAN. We literally had to erase her from the cover. A perfect metaphor for what’s going on in the book.

Apocalypse Sex: Love At The End of The World
edited by Jennifer Levine

With their own demise staring them in the face, the characters in Apocalypse Sex all come to the same conclusion: it's time to have the best sex of their lives. Inhibitions are cast aside and fantasies are fulfilled as the doomed chase down their deepest desires. With stories by J. Daniel Sawyer, Elizabeth Coldwell, Elizabeth Schechter, Beverly Langland, and David Hubbard.

Like An Iron Fist: Dystopian Erotica
edited by Katharine Bergeron & Cecilia Tan

Seven authors investigate sex in the shadow of totalitarianism in Circlet's latest anthology. In the tradition of 1984, The Handmaid's Tale, and Brave New World, all of which dealt with sexuality in some form, these stories explore the seething sexuality under the thumb of oppression. Includes Eric Del Carlo, Nobilis Reed, Angelia Sparrow, Peter Tupper, Monique Poirier, & more.

The Velderet by Cecilia Tan
The Velderet is the story of Kobi and Merin, two roomies on the peaceful world of Bellonia, world where "equality" rules. But they each harbor taboo fantasies of BDSM, and when their world is colonized by the warlike Kylar, who worship the gods of dominance and submission, everything changes.

Chapter Two

Kobi tried not to hurry. He was vain, he knew it, and he knew how silly he looked when he tried to walk too fast, but the scrap of paper in his pocket felt like a white hot star; surely everyone could see it. In reality, it was Kobi’s curiosity that was burning. He gave up trying to look graceful and broke into a jog.

The street was nearly deserted at this hour, anyway. The red moon had set and the white moon was rising behind him. He had spent a long time at the Velderet after his cybersex session, thinking and drinking. Most of the windows were dark in the clean, white domiciles he passed; even the buildings seemed like they were asleep. For Kobi, it only reinforced the feeling that he was no longer a part of the Bellonian mainstream. By his own admission he was different, a kind of sexual outlaw. He had desires and dreams and fantasies that were inadmissible to others; he was now an outsider. He decided he liked this feeling.

Gay Romance Bundle Teasers #1: Chocolatiers of the High Winds

CompassThis week we’ll be running a daily excerpt from the five books of our Gay Romance Bundle. Up first is Chapter Six of H. B. Kurtzwilde‘s Chocolatiers of the High Winds, wherein we get a look at the lead characters, Mayport and Thiervy, their airship, Bessie, and the tension between desire and secrecy that tears at them.

Chapter Six: Deconstruction

Thiervy made every use of Cully’s expertise to hurry work along on the Process. The work hours were exhausting, and they had little to offer in the way of comforts. After such a show of professionalism, Mayport could do nothing but go ahead with his plans. Even with that, he had to navigate the misgivings coming at him from all sides.

“I don’t want to seem disrespectful,” Thiervy said in a nervous tone.

A new chapter appears every Wednesday. This week is Chapter Nine: Kenet

9: Kenet

When I came to, I was in my own bed. The horns were blowing, heralding the return of the hunters from the day’s hunt. Banquet was still a few hours away then. I sat up slowly. I was clothed in my silk sleeping clothes and I had to wonder if Seroi had dressed me, or if a maid had, or if Bear…? Continue reading The Prince’s Boy: Chapter 9

Capricious: Chapter 1

Welcome to Capricious by Julie Cox, a Texan tale of love and magic. NSFW.

A new chapter appears every Tuesday. This week is Chapter One. Listen to the audio version at Nobilis Erotica here!

Chapter 1

A satyr and a merrow burst through the door to the back office of Allison’s Café in each other’s arms. The satyr kicked the door closed behind him, picked the merrow up, and set her on the desk, a steel counter long ago commandeered from the kitchen. She wrapped her thighs around his hips, letting her waitressing skirt hike up high. He kissed her fiercely, the practiced kiss of someone who knew exactly how the other person kissed, how she liked to be touched–lips against her ears and her neck, hands cupping her breasts and then moving under her shirt and bra to stroke her hard nipples. His cock throbbed against the front of his jeans, and she unzipped his pants, pushed his boxers far enough down to get her hand around his cock, and began stroking him.
